Free Home Safety Survey Can Lead to Homeowners Insurance Savings

Leon Valley Police Department's Community Resource Officer, Lt. Victor Reyes, tells me a simple Home Security Survey can identify safety solutions that can save you money and make you less susceptible to crime.

Free to Leon Valley residents, the home security survey, conducted by the Leon Valley Police Department, looks for ‘target hardening’ techniques most effective in deterring home burglary. Perimeter, exterior and interior barriers to burglary are recommended, including alarm systems and auxiliary locking devices for both doors and windows. Depending on your homeowners insurance policy, you may save up to 15% on your insurance as a result of your actions to make your home safer and from information you learn in the survey. There is no cost or obligation. This survey takes approximately 30 minutes.

For more information or to schedule a survey, call Lt. Reyes at (210) 684-3215.

Interim Fire Chief Luis Valdez accepts thanks on behalf of the  Fire Department and EMS.

The residents of Christian Village Apartments, an active seniors apartment complex, held a barbecue lunch today to thank the Leon Valley Police, Fire and EMS.  Our first responders take a proactive approach and make regular visits to the apartments to talk about a wide variety of safety topics, including how to avoid being a scam victim and fire prevention.  I enjoyed representing the mayor today, and meeting the residents.
